Get your prom dress at Junior League's Project Prom

COLUMBUS, GA - The Junior League of Columbus will hold its third annual Project Prom on March 2 from 8 a.m. until noon.

They will be offering new and lightly used prom dresses and accessories at no cost to participants. Dresses are in all styles and sizes.

FORT BENNING, GA - The Ft. Benning Community Spouses’ Club invites Columbus and the tri-community area to the 2013 Benning Bazaar.

Patrons will have the opportunity to browse hundreds of hand made and local gifts from more than 80 vendors, featuring arts and crafts, jewelry, pottery, antiques, handmade goods and more.

World's Widest Yard Sale spans the state of Alabama

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - The World's Widest Yard Sale is kicking off this week, stretching all the way from Phenix City and following Hwy 80 west across the state.

This is the first yard sale of its kind. It will follow over 350 miles of the Alabama highway.

PHENIX CITY, AL - Beginning at 12:01 a.m. (CST) on Friday, August 5, 2011 and ending at 12 Midnight on Sunday August 7, 2011, Alabama will hold its sixth annual Sales Tax Holiday, giving shoppers the opportunity to purcahse certain school supplies, computers, and clothing free of state sales or use tax. Local sales and use tax may apply in some locales, however both the City of Opelika and Lee County are participating in the Sales Tax Holiday.
