PHENIX CITY, AL - The Troy University Symphony Band will present “Pops on the River” at the Phenix City Amphitheatre at 7 p.m. April 27.

“This performance is part of our continuing outreach program to perform in cooperation with each of Troy University's Alabama campuses,” said Mark Walker, director of bands at Troy University. “This concert is the Symphony Band's first ever performance in this venue and will feature a wide variety of classical pops music for every taste and listener.

PHENIX CITY, AL - Congratulations to two Glenwood Band members! Luke Brown and Katie Camacho will be performing tomorrow, Wednesday April 4, with the Huntington College Honor Band in Montgomery.

Luke earned the second chair spot playing euphonium and Katie earned the seventh chair clarinet spot!

Coach "O" Invitational Track Meet this weekend

PHENIX CITY, AL - High School teams from Alabama and Georgia are coming together on Saturday, March 17 for the 2012 Coach “O” Invitational Track Meet at Central High School.

The meet features men and women competitors from Barbour County, Central High School – Phenix City, Eufaula, Russell County, Shaw, Smiths Station and Spencer High schools.  It begins at 9 am.

Troy University riverfront project gets generous donation

PHENIX CITY, AL - Troy University’s proposed riverfront building in Phenix City has received a major boost in the form of a $600,000 gift from the Daniel Foundation.

The University, which established a campus in Phenix City in 1975, and the City have joined forces on the project, which will build a multi-story building which includes classrooms and offices in downtown Phenix City.
