Georgia Military College Columbus students place 5th at National Junior College Ethics Bowl Champion

Georgia Military College Columbus students James Spruill, Ft. Benning, GA, Marcus Priester, Phenix City, AL, Micheal Randle, Columbus, GA, and Alexandria Williams, Columbus, GA, traveled to Milledgeville to compete last weekend in the National Junior College Ethics Bowl Championship.

The Georgia Military College Columbus team won two matches and placed fifth. The team’s coach, Dr. Keshia Easterling, Columbus, GA, along with GMC’s Ethics Program Coordinator, Dr. Stephen Barber, Columbus, GA, were in attendance.  The National Champion was Harper College of Palatine, IL.

They will be offering new and lightly used prom dresses and accessories at no cost to participants. Dresses are in all styles and sizes.

Georgia Military College welcomes new members of honor society

COLUMBUS, GA - The Beta Sigma Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, located at GMC Columbus, recently inducted new members.

Membership in Phi Theta Kappa is an exclusive honor, limited only to students with a GPA of at least 3.5. The society exists, “to encourage scholarship, facilitate service opportunities, and provide an intellectual community for its members,” said PTK Faculty Advisor and Humanities Department Chair Erica Stone.

PHENIX CITY, AL - Officials say someone called in a bomb threat to Central High school around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning.

All 1750 students were evacuated while the building was cleared.
