Chuck Leonard visits Career Day at Head Start Center
News

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM)- The Head Start Center in Phenix
City hosted its Career Day Monday.

Representatives from all
different types of careers were in attendance from police officers to firemen
to dog trainers.

News Leader 9's Chuck
Leonard spent his morning there talking with kids about the ins and outs of
working in television. The children, ages three to five, were full of
questions.

We spoke with their
principal Dr. Carolyn Keasal, who told us why having a career day is so
important for children this young.

"The earlier that you
reach children as far as inspiring them to do things, the better it is so we
just want to make them aware early on of all the options out there and see the
different jobs out in the community."

She continued to say Career
Day shows children the purpose of going to school and all of the things they
need to do in order to have those careers.

She hopes it will
encourage the children to strive for success.
