RUSSELL COUNTY, AL - Help Support the Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department Raise Money for M.D.A. On August 20th at 8:30pm the Ladonia Fire Department we will be showing: “How to Train Your Dragon” Please bring your lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Cold drinks and popcorn will be sold. They will ask for donations to help Fill Our Boots for M.D.A. All are welcome to come!

Alabama woman celebrates her centennial birthday

EUFALA, AL - Pittsview resident Marie Duncan Forbes Coles celebrated her 100th birthday in Eufala yesterday. The party was attended by about 150 family and friends. Coles was born and raised in Kentucky but has lived in Pittsview since 1944. She has 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She stays active with a weekly game of bridge.

Sept. 1 – National Infantry Museum – 9/11 10th anniversary and I-Beam dedication
Sept. 2 – Labor Day training holiday

Monthly Junior Golf Tournament on Saturday

Monthly Junior Golf Tournament on Saturday

COLUMBUS, GA - The Monthly Junior Golf Tournament is taking place this weekend at the Godwin Creek Golf Course. There are five groups for children age 15 and younger. The tournaments begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday August 6, with check in at 1:30 pm. The cost is $15 per player. The tournament will follow stroke play with a triple bogey max. There will be awards for the top three players. The tournament will be played the next Saturday in the event of rain.

Phenix City Nationals play in State Championship

PHENIX CITY, AL - The 10-year-old Phenix City Nationals are heading to Rusellville Alabama today to compete for the State Title. The game is at 6:00 pm. Good luck guys!
