Sex offender sentenced to four life terms for abusing young girls

PHENIX CITY, AL - A man accused of sexually abusing three young girls appeared in court Friday and pleaded guilty to all the charges against him.

Phenix City Police started the investigation back on Dec. 2, 2012 when a relative told police that Benjamin Nowak, age 31, might have sexually abused three juvenile females.

PHENIX CITY, AL - Phenix City Police used a special piece of equipment to safely end a car chase earlier this week.

Jesse Ferrell and Randall Scott Wilkes Jr. were arrested after they led police on a short chase that ended on the 280 bypass during the early hours of Jan. 14.

Officers used stop sticks to puncture the tires of the car and safely deflate them. 

The two suspects were taken into custody on burglary and drug related crimes.

PHENIX CITY, AL - Four men crashed their SUV into a Phenix City business and burglarized it over the weekend, leading to a short chase with police.

Phenix City Police responded to a report that a vehicle had crashed into Pawn Headquarters on the 280 Bypass on Jan. 12 around 5 a.m.

Officials arrested Tyler Dowling, age 18 of Smiths Station, on Lee County warrants for theft of property, burglary, robbery, and attempted murder.

Larry DiChiara said he was arrested earlier today, but police say they're still looking for him.
