2011 All Stars Sub-District Champs!

Congratulations to the Hawks, Major All Star Team for the Russell County Baseball League. They defeated Union Springs yesterday in Tuskegee,AL. They are now the sub-district champions. They will begin to play district games this Saturday in Smiths Station. Please give them your support. Go Hawks!

Phenix City National team advances to State

PHENIX CITY, AL - The 9-10 year old boys Phenix City National team won their district baseball competition Tuesday in Roanoke, Al. They played Roanoke and won 4-2. The boys next stop is Russellville, AL where they will compete for the state title on July 16.

PHENIX CITY, AL - A Russell County woman is celebrating being alive more than 100 years. Pernella Lee Fortson is turning 102 on June 25th. She was born and raised in Hatchechubbee, Alabama. Congratulations on another year!

Fort Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department's 35th Annual BBQ

The Fort Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their annual BBQ Saturday June 26 from 11am-4pm. B-B-Q plates will be on sale for $7.50 all proceeds go to fund operations at the Fire Department. They will also have bouncy houses for the kids and a simulation smoke trailer.
