PHENIX CITY, AL - Santa's elves have been busy decorating the Amphitheater and spreading Christmas cheer all around.

Head to the Amphitheater for a fun filled evening of live entertainment followed by fireworks!

PHENIX CITY, AL - Volunteers have been working tirelessly at Phenix City-area collection sites where thousands of shoe boxes packed with school supplies, toys and necessity items were dropped off by caring Phenix City residents.

National Collection Week is wrapping up for the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind—Operation Christmas Child—where participants fill empty shoe boxes with items for kids suffering from natural disaster, war, terrorism, famine, and poverty. Soon, these shoe boxes will be delivered to 8.5 million kids worldwide.

First Lady Dianne Bentley Continues “Blankets with a Blessing” Tradition

First Lady Dianne Bentley will continue the initiative “Blankets with a Blessing” that provides new quilts and blankets to homeless and displaced families during the holiday season. “Blankets with a Blessing” has provided thousands of blankets since the initiative began in 2004.

Phenix City awarded grant from Gov. Bentley

PHENIX CITY, AL - Gov. Robert Bentley has awarded $700,000 to improve living conditions and eliminate some safety hazards in Tuskegee and Phenix City. 

Bentley awarded a $450,000 Community Development Block Grant to Tuskegee to rehabilitate a dilapidated neighborhood and a $250,000 CDBG award to help Phenix City improve 13 streets.

Walk to End Alzheimer's this Saturday October 29

COLUMBUS, GA - The Columbus Walk To End Alzheimer’s is Saturday, Oct 29 in Uptown Columbus.  Over 500 walkers are pre-registered for the Walk.  Opening Ceremonies will begin in the 1100 block of Broadway at 10 am, check in begins at 9 am. Participants will walk along Broadway south to 6th and back along the Riverwalk.  The Walk will conclude at about 11:15 with a beautiful Promise Garden of flowers “planted” in the 1100 block median to honor each walkers experience with this dreadful disease.
